The great finale

It is so difficult to write sometimes about our performance in any task taken because we tend to evaluate ourselves in good way but our feelings can blind us on what we really did and how we finished. At this point I feel very complete with the job we have done during the course and what I like the most it`s the idea fo integrate technology in our teachers practices due to now, our students are so eager to learn something by using technological resources and in a way, they will be more confident and with the use of computers during the process of education. I think in the future students mya not need a teacher phisically in a classroom and it could happen that maybe we are preparing them for the stages on how schools will work and how classes will be like in a few years. At the beggining of the course I thought there were nothing new in the horizon if we are talking about the application of technology in the classroom but this 10 weeks of work have shown how small was my knowledge in terms of webskills and how far I was from being a interactive teacher with the use of computers.
As everything, we shouldn`t have the idea of being full of knowledge after learning something, on the contrary, we must find a way how to improve day by day, month by month and so on our teaching perfomance in order to become more effective and meaningful within our practices.
Finally I would like to thank Robert for being a very supportive and very skill tutor because without him, most of us wouldn`t have the possibility to overcome this course in terms of  being with us all the time and showing us a path which at the end, will show us how to encourage my students to be an autonomous learner by using our own experience of this course.  Thanks for everything to robert and all the teachers who have participated on this course, they have shown how clever and creative can a teacher be with the support of someone who reallly cares about our main objective in education, the learning process of our students. See you soon I hope.

Week 9 almost at the end.

This week work have been very ineteresting because we finally made our schools projects. My project is oriented to develop all the communicative skills from the language in an autonomous way so my students in their free time can practice and go deep with the classroom contents from the national curriculum. In a way we may provide these tools to them because it is not enough time on classes to work deeply and I plan to solve that problem through a website which I already made. The other aspect which was intereting was how technology can help us to identify and can improve students learning owing to their learning style. There several readings and resources that can be helpful to use in order to identify every style and how can we work showing samples of each and what can do to make our performance as a teacher better.

week 8 making the costume

This week it has been particulary rewarding because my project`s draft is being observe by a dear colleague Apana Gupta from Nepal. As I evidenced she is wonderful teacher and most of their ideas and setting issues may be share with her because in my country and specifically in my town technology it is not something you can find around the corner so it is like a mirror.  Tomorrow I will start 2013 work in my students after a 2 months vacation so imagine how I feel. However, this course help me a lot to keep thinking on teaching and how my practices can be adapted to our new genereations. Thanks again and bye bye.

week 7, the end is near.....

Well, this week tasks reminds me how good would  it be to had a teacher who encourage my autonomous learning during my schools days? Now as an adult, it`s been very hard at the beginning but as everything if you work hard there will be no limits for us. This week also contact my peer for pair group work Aparna who as I can see, she is an excellent teacher and she is pretty involved in the course. I hope next week we can share the draft for feeding back ideas and comments. thats all for now, much work to do for next week. See you then.

week 6 making the change

As I see, this week work was very interesting and rewarding according to one of the topics from discussion.... which is large classes effectiveness. It has been one of my weakess points during my 6 years on the job because everytime you work in large classes you always need to have a plan B because of the students misbehave or things are not going like we want to.
So I like when I read Rick Finnan and Donna Shaw`s article about it because it put my ideas in order. It happened to me like the article said "Students are rarely asked to process their learning, and discussions are limited." so How can I get a feedback from if they didn`t want to ask something?
According to them there are some considerations we may follow to lead our students to a effective learning, those are for example having a variety of materials for lectures, include pacing accordint to their way of learning, interesting lectures, setting up routines to make them work all in the same way, etc.
I really think that if I consider these ideas on my future plans there will a chance to work in a positive way and it will encourage my students to engage their learning and make the constructivist process easier for them.
On the other hand, when we talk about powerpoint presentations I always complaint about the way people work with it by fulliing information that can be read in a worksheet instead of read it in front of the audience. As a result I realize all the factors we may consider in the constrution of a ppt in order to make it accurate and undestandable to the audience because as the pdf article says the less info in the template and more body language you have, the lecture will be clear and motivated to the hearing.
Finally the "nickname" of my project (it isn`t the official) it is " Technology apply in the use of english language". the project will focus on giving my students opportunities to work topics from classes so they can practice more and deeper in their homes. Every level will have a different place on a website which It will build and by using rubrics or tools given by the course I will be able to feedback effectively their leaning in order to enhace their language acquisition. that`s all for now. week 5 half way

This week work was oriented on the integration of PBL and rubrics on our Practices. In my case rubrics are very common in my practices but here we can realize how important are in the educational process we are managing in our schools and also in a way our students are very grateful with the use of it to make the evaluation more fair and accurate. Talking on PBL, I`ve never heard on the way we read and work during this week so it was an important issue to take into account in the following semester with my students. Finally , I know how my project will be and what will be its objectives. Thanks and see you then.

week 4 and coming

Well dear blog this week has been very workable and engaging. First I always thought that my weakest point as a english teacher is the writing part because sometimes when you use aural or spoken language even when you are leading the communication you also can use body language and eventually a higher percent of the people will follow you. However, when writing comes, all people don`t pay too much attention to grammar which is the WAY on which we MUST use the language correctly and stiick with this issue is the fact all people that use language as as second one tend to use grammar their grammar structures instead fo english ones and as an example in spanish whenever the sentence was first is the noun and then the adjective but in english the order is all the way down. So as you can see for me isn`t a easy task to deal with. But according to the reading articles there is more than one option to overcome writing and also there are many things or situations which we may consider solutions to face this issue. thanks for all and see you next week.
